The Yielding/Yeilding family had an estate in and around Glensharrold, NW and W of Ardagh, W Co.Limerick.
Richard Yeilding (or Yielding) seems to be the first one here. He is known to have had land at Glensharrold.
His son was
William Yielding (or Yeilding),
who would have inherited Glensharrold.
[Burkes Irish, 1976]
shows Ann Massy, born 1750, married to
Hugh Yielding (unidentified) of "Glenaster", Co.Limerick.
This is probably confusion with her sister
Mary Agnes Massy who married William Yielding.
William did not live at Glensharrold either.
It may just be land and no house at this point.
He died before 1803.
His son was
Richard Massy Yeilding.
He inherited the Glensharrold estate.
His main house was elsewhere,
but
he clearly had a country house at Glensharrold,
since two of his sons named their houses in North America
after Glensharrold.
NIAH
says
