Yielding (or Yeilding) of Tralee, Co.Kerry, and Belview, Co.Limerick

Spellings vary constantly between "Yielding" and "Yeilding", sometimes in the same document.
The Limerick branch are mostly "Yielding" in 18th century, changing to "Yeilding" in 19th century.

  1. James Yeilding,
    of Tralee, Co.Kerry.
    "Yielding" in will abstract.
    See rival WikiTree entries here and here. These need to be merged.
    [Hickson, 1874] says he and brother Richard came to Ireland about 1650. That seems far too early if he died in 1720s.
    He mar Jane Bruce [dau of Very Rev. Dean Bruce].
    He was party to [Deed of 1697] with Rowland Bateman. Yeilding leases extensive land near Tralee from Bateman.
    He lived at Lohercannan, W outskirts of Tralee.
    He was party to [Deed of 1714] with John Bateman.
    His will dated 9 September 1721.
    He died in 1723 to 1724. Will says he desires to be bur in Tralee church.
    Think he died before [Deed of Apr 1724].
    Will proved at Ardfert on 13 Jan 1726 (new style year). Listed in [Index to Irish Wills]. This will was burnt in 1922.

    He left his estate to his nephew John.
    [Deed of 21 Jan 1726] is about dealing with his property after his death.


  2. Richard Yeilding.
    He mar Sarah Haines.
    [Hickson, 1874] says she was sister-in-law of Rowland Bateman of Oak Park.
    They had issue:


    1. John Yeilding,
      or Yielding,
      of Tralee, Co.Kerry.
      He was one of the "lives" in [Deed of 1714].
      He married Avis Blennerhassett.
      Their son was born in 1717.


    2. Richard Yielding,
      or Yeilding, born pre-1697,
      of Tralee, Co.Kerry.
      He married Belinda Bateman and had a son Richard.
      Ancestor of Yielding of Co.Limerick.






[Deed of 1726] says that the "lives" in [Deed of 1697] were James Yeilding and his wife Jane, and "Richard Yeilding junior".



[Deed of Feb 1728] says one of the "lives" of the deed is Richard Yielding , son of Richard Yielding , merchant, deceased, the brother of John Yielding of Tralee.
