Extract from will of Simon White dated 1704, proved 1705.
Showing him leaving Glenstal, Co.Limerick, to his son Thomas.



Simon White,
or Symon,
of Knocksentry, Co.Limerick.
He mar 1stly, pre-1656, to --- Shouldam.
In 1662 he was granted Knocksentry (or Knockcentry), Killeenagarriff par, Co.Limerick (near Lisnagry and Annacotty, E of Limerick city).
In 1666 he was granted Glenstal, Co.Limerick.
Glenstal was granted to Robert Wilkinson and Symon White by a deed of 20 Dec 1666. See [White papers, Glenstal].
He had issue by 1st wife:


  1. Thomas White,
    born 1656,
    of Glenstal, Co.Limerick.
    Later of Cappagh, Toem par, Co.Tipperary.
    Described as of Cappagh in his will dated 1716.
    He was bur 1721. Will pr 1722.
    "Simon White of Dublin" (unidentified) inherited Glenstal by 1718 and sold it in 1724.


  2. John White,
    of Cappagh, Toem par, Co.Tipperary.
    The White family lived at Cappagh House, and gave their name to the village which became "Cappagh White" or Cappawhite, Co.Tipperary.
    His will dated 1718. He died 1718. Will pr 1719.
    He had issue:

    1. Rev. Newport White, born 1694.
      His will pr 1759.
      He had issue:

      1. Catherine White.
        She mar 1751 to Jeremiah Dwyer.
        See marriage settlement, 17 Sept 1751.


  3. Richard White,
    of Bantry, Co.Cork.
    Ancestor of White, Earl of Bantry (cr 1816, extinct 1891).
    Seat at Bantry House.


Simon White mar 2ndly, 1680, to Jane Hovell.
His will dated 23 Nov 1704.
Will proved 20 Mar 1705 (using new style year).
His will shows he is the owner of Glenstal.
He had issue by 2nd wife:


  1. Benjamin White,
    born 1682.





Cappawhite (or Cappaghwhite), Co.Tipperary, on 1829 to 1842 map.
Cappagh House, in Cappagh townland, was the White seat.
