inherited Lisgordan, near Shanagolden, Co.Limerick,
described as farmer, of Lisgordan at mar,
mar settlement 1870,
mar 1870 to Mary O'Brien [born 1850],
helped repair the roof of his brother's house Grouse Lodge, and left his name on the building: "M. Donovan Nov 10th 1882",
"Michael Donovan" is listed as farmer, Lisgordan, Rathronan, under Kilcolman in [Postal Directory of Munster, 1886],
he is probably "Michael Donovan" who is listed in [Postal Directory of Munster, 1886] as proprietor of an iron mineral quarry at Knockbweeheen, Kilcolman par (see his father's lease of 1856),
he died Lisgordan, 15 Oct 1895, age 59 yrs,
see death notice in Freemans Journal, October 17, 1895,
Mary is listed at Lisgordan in [Census, 1901], she is widow, "farmer", children helping with the farm, they also have 4 servants,
she is listed at Lisgordan in [Census, 1911], she is widow, "farmer", her son Patrick also "farmer", they have 2 servants,
had issue:

1. Mary Donovan,
   Mary Agnes Donovan, born 1876, Co.Limerick,
   at home in 1901 census, unmarried,
   died unmarried, Lisgordan, 11 Aug 1908, age 32 yrs, of stricture of oesophagus,
   see entry in [GROI], death reported by her 1st cousin Mary Nolan of Shanagolden.

   
   

2. Patrick Donovan,
   or Patrick O'Donovan,
   born 1876 or 1877, Co.Limerick,
   inherited Lisgordan after father died 1895,
   was at funeral of James Nolan 1897,
   at home in Lisgordan in 1901 census, unmarried,
   "Patrick Donovan" is listed as cousin of Peter Donovan at his funeral 1901,
   "P. Donovan, Lisgordan" is described as grand nephew of Margaret Nolan at her death 1903,
   at home in Lisgordan in 1911 census, unmarried, "farmer",
   mar Lil Coleman [Elizabeth, of Ballyvoghan, Rathronan par, Co.Limerick, see map],
   he died 7 Feb 1920, age 43 or 44 yrs,
   bur Kilbradran graveyard,
   had issue:
   1. Brian Donovan, mar Mary T. O'Shaughnessy and had issue:
      1. Michael O'Donovan, had issue:
         1. Ger O'Donovan.
      2. Daniel O'Donovan.
