Brendan O'Farrell


Brendan O'Farrell,
born 2 Feb 1898.
He is listed in 1901 census as then staying with grandfather in Dublin.
He was raised in Ireland, though his parents travelled internationally.
He was educ Castleknock College, Dublin.
He is listed in 1911 census as a boarder at Castleknock.
He was educ TCD. He played rugby for Leinster.
He was friends with his cousin Nancy Flanagan (later Winter) when they were children in Ireland.
He went to US in 1916 to join US Army in WW1.
He only came back to Ireland once. He visited Frank Flanagan.

He mar pre-1938 to Eleanor C. Peck [Anglo-Irish, born Ireland, 12 May 1905].
She was widow of ---- Powers.
Brendan and Eleanor lived Los Angeles.

Brendan died 30 Mar 1982, age 84 yrs.
He was bur back in Ireland in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.
He had wanted to be cremated, but wife against it.
When he died, his son Brendan remembered that his father used correspond with Liam Cosgrave. Brendan junior rang Ireland and managed, through the Gardai, to get through to Liam. Arranged to bring his father's body back to be buried in Ireland with the Alderman.

Eleanor died 1991, age 86 yrs.
Her son said she died 13 July 1991 but grave says 11 Nov 1991.
She was also bur Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin.
Her son also arranged for her body to be buried back in Ireland.
They had issue:


  1. Brendan O'Farrell,
    mar Ani Mugrditchian and had issue:

    1. Papken O'Farrell.
    2. Alana O'Farrell.
    3. Fiona O'Farrell.
