Before Flanagan

"Patrick Howley" is listed at a modest house (according to valuation) at the site of Portmahon Lodge (plot 13) in Goldenbridge South in [Griffiths Valuation, 1850], renting from James Carey.
Cannot find Howley or Carey or Portmahon Lodge in [Thom's, 1850] or [Thom's, 1852].

Raymond Williams is listed at Portmahon Lodge in 1882.
James Bolger lived at Portmahon Lodge and died there 24 Dec 1890. His probate is in Flanagan papers.

Flanagan

Alderman Michael Flanagan acquired Portmahon Lodge by Deed of 5 Feb 1892. This is transfer from Kate Bolger of "Portmahon cottage" and outhouses. 3 acres. (This is Portmahon Lodge.)
Flanagan never lived there but rented to a number of tenants.

Tench

[Deed of 1902] is a lease of Portmahon Lodge from Alderman Michael Flanagan to John Tench.
[Obituary of Nora Flanagan, 1957] said The Bird Flanagan lived at "Portmahon Lodge" around 1909. But Tench was there then. Think this is just an error for Portmahon House.
Portmahon Lodge was a Flanagan property, but there seems no evidence that The Bird lived there.

"Mrs. Tench" is listed at Portmahon Lodge, Canal Bank, Goldenbridge, in [Thom's, 1910].
See listing for the Tench family at Portmahon Lodge in 1911 census. The head of the large family, the widow Margaret Tench, is listed as a "farmer". The house has 14 rooms. 5 windows in front of house. There are 12 out-buildings.
Various Meade relations are living with Mrs. Tench in 1911, and one of them is listed in the 1913 phone directory at Portmahon Lodge, Rialto.
