Limerick workhouse

The workhouse of Limerick Union.
Also called "Limerick City Home", or "The Union".
Farranshonemore townland, Limerick city.
Various relatives worked there:

• David Sheahan was Master of Limerick workhouse.
  He is listed as such in [Slater's, 1881] to [Guy's, 1893].

• Dr. David Humphrys (later Humphreys) was doctor (Visiting Medical Officer) at Limerick workhouse.
  He is listed as such in [Thoms, 1888] to [Thoms, 1901].

• Dr. David's nephew Dr. Louis Humphreys was Resident Medical Officer here from at least 1919 to 1940.
  He lived "Tevere", beside Limerick City Home. (Now Tevere Day Hospital.)

This is now St. Camillus' Hospital, near junction of Shelbourne Road and Ennis Rd (see map), NW side of Limerick.
