He
mar before 1442 to
Joan Knyvet.
In 1442 they acquired her family property,
Southwick Hall, Northamptonshire.
Southwick Hall became the Lynne seat.
His will dated 1486.
He died 1486-1487.
Will pr in
Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 9 Aug 1487.
John and Joan had issue:
- Richard Lynne,
of Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire.
Vice-Chamberlain to Margaret Beaufort (died 1509),
mother of
Henry VII.
He was bur 1509.
Great-grandfather of:
- William Lynne,
born 1562,
of Bassingbourn.
He mar 10 Feb 1589 (new style year) to Elizabeth Steward [bapt 28 Oct 1565, dau of William Steward].
He died 22 July 1589, age 27 yrs.
Elizabeth remarried, probably 1591, to Robert Cromwell
[of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire]
and had issue.
Elizabeth and Robert were the parents of
Oliver Cromwell [born 1599].
