Tuchet

or Touchet

Tuchet, Baron Audley

"Black Jack's Book" claims a descent of his Blennerhassett line from Tuchet, Baron Audley, but his descent is not convincing.
We start with:

John Tuchet, 6th Baron Audley,
see his descent from Edward I on p.630 of [Foster's Royal Descents, vol.4, 1886],
mar 1450-1456 to Anne Echingham,
died 1490,
had issue:

James Tuchet, 7th Baron Audley,
born 1463 (age 27 at father's death),
mar 1stly, in or before 1483, to Margaret Darrell [or Dayrell, dau of Margaret Beaufort, descendant of Edward III],
mar 2ndly, in or before 1488, to Joan Bourchier [dau of Fulk Bourchier, 10th Baron FitzWarin, descendant of Edward III],
executed 1497, age 34 yrs,
had issue by 1st wife (NOT by 2nd wife):

John Tuchet, 8th Baron Audley, born 1483,
[Complete Peerage] says he was age 6 in 1489, son of his father's 1st wife, and explains why there was confusion with 2nd wife,
mar Mary Griffin,
he died before 1558,
had issue:

George Tuchet, 9th Baron Audley,
mar 1stly to Elizabeth Tuke,
bur 1560,
had issue by 1st wife:

Henry Tuchet, 10th Baron Audley.
See genealogics and thepeerage.
He mar Elizabeth Sneyd.
He died 1563.
He was buried in Betley, Staffordshire.
They had issue:

  1. George Tuchet, 1st Earl of Castlehaven,
    born 1551 (age 12 in 1563).
He succ as 11th Baron in 1563.
He was cr 1st Earl in 1616.

Tuchet who married Ryeves

"Black Jack's Book" says Dorothy Tuchet who married Sir Robert Ryeves is sister of 1st Earl of Castlehaven, and dau of Baron Audley.
But his account of the Tuchet family is confused.
On p.78 of the transcript as given in [Hickson, 1872], Black Jack has the father of Dorothy and the Earl of Castlehaven as "John Touchet, Baron Audley".
On p.107 he has the father as "John Touchet, Baron Audley" who married "Joan, daughter of Fulke Bouchier".
Dorothy Tuchet's father must be considered unknown:
