Items of Maurice Leyne
Maurice Richard Leyne, son of Capt. Richard Leyne, was bapt 1820.
He was a grandnephew through his
mother
of Daniel O'Connell,
but he joined the
Young Irelanders,
who carried out an abortive
rebellion
in 1848.
Leyne was jailed for his involvement in the Young Ireland movement.
He died in 1854 or 1855.
