William Humphreys,
He mar c.1824 to Johanna Ryan [born c.1804, poss. Joanna].
She was probably born in Co.Tipperary,
daughter of Nicholas Ryan and Margaret Wadick.
She was possibly born in Corran, Co.Sligo.
At mar he was age 21 and she was age 20.
Children bapt in Newport 1825 to 1836.
Listed at Doonane at children's baptisms 1825 to 1834.
And again in 1847.
William and Johanna's children were bapt in Ballinahinch 1840 to 1847.
This does not indicate any move from Doonane.
Rather it indicates the Ballinahinch church opening in 1839.
They are listed at Doonane at son's bapt 1847.
William
died at Doonane in 1846-1848 (we allow for a posthumous birth of the last child).
This was during the Famine.
He was buried at Killoscully.
Johanna is listed at
Doonane
after him.
"Johanna Humphreys"
is listed in
[Griffiths Valuation, 1848]
at Doonane. She is renting 22 acres, no house.

is listed in
[Griffiths Valuation, 1850]
at Doonane. She is renting 22 acres, no house.
The record then adjusts the valuation by adding all land and houses in Doonane to her entry.
Johanna emigrated to America:
These were tough, famine years.
She packed up, took children to new life in America.
She sailed to Philadelphia 1850.
She
died 12 Oct 1868,
Washoe City, Nevada.
She was
bur Washoe City cemetery.
William and
Johanna had issue:
[Humphreys of Doonane family history] names the following children.
Entry for Doonane in
[Tithe Survey, 1827].
William Humphreys holds 80 acres
(60 acres of 2nd quality land
and 20 acres of 3rd quality land).
