Knight of Kerry papers
In the 19th century,
Sir Peter Fitzgerald, 1st Baronet, 19th Knight of Kerry,
made a collection of then-recent Knight of Kerry papers.
Mainly letters of his father the
18th Knight of Kerry.
and grandfather the
17th Knight of Kerry.
Dates c.1740 to 1853.
- There are 18 volumes.
Vols 1 to 17 are in
[UCC library].
- Vol.18 is a collection of letters dated 1796 to 1884,
which Sir Peter
"abstracted from the general series because of the
celebrity of the correspondents".
This is in
[NLI].
-
Unfortunately it is believed Sir Peter dumped letters about family and social material,
in favour of letters about politics.

The entire 18 volumes have been published
by

Denny papers transcripts
Transcripts of Knight of Kerry letters.
Now in the
Denny papers.
Letters dated 1744 to 1825.
Transcribed around 1825 by a daughter of
the
18th Knight of Kerry.
(NOT transcribed by a Denny.)
Almost all of these are in the 18 volumes (and hence published).
But it is possible there are a few extra ones in the Denny collection.
