mar 1stly, pre-c.1560, to
Catherine Fitzwilliam
[descendant of
Edward I].
[Complete Peerage]
says no issue by her,
but this must be wrong.
2nd wife unlikely to have children born about 25 years apart.
Also it would mean Jane Preston marries her
uncle.
4th Viscount clearly
had issue by 1st wife:

born est c.1560,
must be dau of 1st wife,
mar pre-1581 to Sir Richard Fitzwilliam, Kt
and had issue.
4th Viscount
mar 2ndly, pre-1584,
to
Catherine Fitzwilliam
[1st cousin once-removed of his 1st wife].
He
appeared at the
general hosting at Tara, 24 Sept 1593.
He
died 24 Jan 1600 (using new year), age 63 yrs.
He was bur 27 Jan 1600, at
Stamullen, Co.Meath.
[Complete Peerage]
quotes a letter of 29 Jan 1600, which says:
"The Viscount Gormanston is dead, by whose death Her Majesty is rid of
a froward nobleman, contentious, and backward in all duties."
Catherine was bur 10th Feb 1602.
4th Viscount
had issue by 2nd wife:
- Jenico Preston, 5th Viscount Gormanston,
born 1585 (age 15 in 1600),
died 1630, bur Stamullen, Co.Meath.
- Thomas Preston, 1st Viscount Tara
(see here),
Confederate leader in
Irish Confederate Wars 1641 to 1653.
