  1. Nicholas Vaux, 1st Baron Vaux of Harrowden,
    born c.1460.
    Family seat at Harrowden Hall, Great Harrowden, N of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire (see map). Little Harrowden is nearby.
    Nicholas was knighted 1487.
    He mar 1stly to Elizabeth Fitz-Hugh [born est c.1455, descendant of Edward III].
    Elizabeth died pre-1507.
    He had issue by 1st wife:


    1. Catherine Vaux,
      born est c.1490.
      She mar before 1512 to Sir George Throckmorton and had issue.
      She is aunt (through mother's 1st marriage) of Catherine Parr, Queen of England.


    He mar 2ndly, Nov 1507 - Jan 1508 [him age c.47, her age 18] to Anne Green [born 1489, descendant of Edward I].
    He appears in Act 2, Scene 1 of the play Henry VIII by Shakespeare (around the time of the trial of Buckingham 1521).
    He entertained Henry VIII at Harrowden Hall.
    He was cr Baron Vaux of Harrowden on 27 Apr 1523.
    He died 14th May 1523, age c.63 yrs.
    He had issue by 2nd wife:


    1. Thomas Vaux, 2nd Baron Vaux of Harrowden,
      born 25th Apr 1509.
